A Risk Index for the Structural Diagnosis of Masonry Heritage (RISDiMaH)

Experts responsible for the safety evaluation of unique masonry heritage structures usually need to weigh information from various diagnosis activities before deciding best course action preservation. Typical sources valuable are historical and in situ surveys inspections, minor non-destructive testing, structural health monitoring, analysis, among others. Due complexity problem singular aspects monuments, these decisions challenging often made solely on basis expert judgement. A systematic risk assessment procedure is proposed involving computation two indices facilitate decision-making process: an index related estimated damage, another uncertainty behind this estimation. Results applying several case studies provided demonstrate its usefulness.
